Picture this…
It’s a few days before the Holidays. You’re the parent of two young children in a time that is supposed to be filled with joy and excitement. But instead of being at home, baking cookies and wrapping presents, you’re sitting with your family in a hospital room, waiting for the tests or surgery your youngest is about to have performed. Anxiety? Sure. Fear? Of course.
At that moment, you’d give anything to see the stressful emotions on your kid’s faces replaced with a smile, wouldn’t you?
Well, what if I told you there’s an organization whose mission statement reads:
“To brighten the lives of children of all ages through the gift of songs and stories.”
What if I told you that their sole purpose is to help bring those smiles that are so desperately needed in that hospital setting. And what if I told you that for the cost of giving up one trip to Starbucks, you could be one of Santa’s little helpers bringing those smiles to thousands of children’s faces.
You can. Here’s how.
Donate today to the Holiday Magic CD Project.
The idea and creation of Jeff Gelder, the Holiday Magic CD Project began in 2003. Since then, talented voiceover artists have lent their time and creativity to the project by providing characters, stories, and songs that are compiled on a CD that is given to families in need of a little cheer during the holidays. This year’s CD is being produced right now.
“This is a labor of love that is received with much joy by children who are unfortunately spending the holiday season in the hospital and their siblings, who often crave attention due to so much being given to the ailing member of their family,” Gelder says.
The goal this year is to obtain 5,000 donations of just $5 each, which would provide over 10,000 Holiday Magic CD’s worldwide.
